Mutual Legal Assistance Course
Corruption and financial crimes often extend beyond national borders as they are multi-faceted and increasingly transnational in nature hence the need to gather evidence through international cooperation. The mutual legal assistance course is designed to respond to this need in conducting criminal investigations and civil recovery. The course will therefore equip the participants with the framework and procedures within which to obtain both formal assistance (Mutual Legal Assistance) and informal cooperation. In addition, the participants will be enlightened on the extradition process.

• Navigate the legal frameworks for international evidence gathering
• Understand the extradition process and cross-border asset recovery
• Learn how to draft and execute Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) requests
• Strengthen international collaboration in tackling transnational crimes
